The World we live in today is structured through all sorts of people groups/societies. People function together to benefit a collective purpose or common goal; people work together in companies to gain profit and earn a salary. People join sports clubs to acquire and develop their skills and win prizes; participate in political parties to gain a majority and the power to rule; and so on. The more extensive the people group, the more significant their influence and the impact they can have. All collective bodies serving a worldly structure have in common that they have a temporary character and lapse of membership. Without people joining together to form collective bodies, the World and its societies will stop functioning and become dysfunctional.
Being Christ followers, we ought to unite in one body (1 Corinthians 1:10). In contrast to worldly unity, unity, unity in Christ serves an eternal purpose (Revelation 11:14-19) and thus has a lasting character. Understanding that all things are spiritual to the Lord, and there is only one Spirit of God in existence, being in Spiritual unity, therefore, requires one Spiritual understanding.
Therefore, it is essential to understand that unity in Christ has a deeper meaning than just drinking coffee together or having a joint service. It involves a covenant in which each “separate” part is equally important to the entire body.
Unity in the body of Christ is vital to the success of the mission God has called us to.
These are CERTAIN times for Christ-followers to come together NOW. This is a wake-up call or battle cry for ALL Christ-followers and warriors to stand firm in Christ, push back the darkness, and participate in Kingdom impact!
StL endeavors to advance the unity of God’s Spirit based upon the truth of Who God is and What God has done through His Son within the global community of dedicated Spirit-filled believers for one soul purpose: the Great Commission’s fulfillment and beyond …
Therefore we encourage others to join the mission, encouraging one another likewise to be united by the love of Christ and the power of His Spirit so that with this, all shall know that Jesus Christ is alive!
