UKRAINIAN REFUGEES NEED HELP

WHILE THE MEN OF UKRAINE ARE FIGHTING FOR THEIR HOME, THEIR WOMEN, CHILDREN AND ELDERLY PARENTS WERE FORCED TO FLEE THEIR NATIVE COUNTRY IN ORDER TO SAVE THEIR LIVES.

GETTING OUT OF THE CITIES, AT THE RISK OF BEING FIRED UPON, THEY STOOD IN THE COLD FOR 15 HOURS AT THE BORDER, OVERCOMING A 6-KILOMETER LINE, WITHOUT ANYTHING, SOME DID NOT EVEN HAVE TIME TO TAKE A PASSPORT OR MAKE DOCUMENTS FOR NEWBORN CHILDREN.

THEY NEED SO LITTLE, SOMETHING WE NEVER THINK ABOUT LIVING A NORMAL LIFE. A ROOF OVER YOUR HEAD, WHAT TO EAT AND WHAT TO WEAR.

WHILE THEY ARE FORCED TO STAY IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY, WE CAN HELP THEM.

How is StL Mission involved?

  • We are ready with a team of employees and volunteers in every municipal reception location to welcome Ukrainians during this difficult and emotional time.
  • We give personal support to refugees during their asylum procedure and show them the way in Dutch society.
  • We explain to Ukrainians what the possibilities are for them to request asylum
  • We stand up for the interests of refugees and put pressure on the government to protect them.
  • We are present in more and more (emergency) reception locations for Ukrainian refugees. There we offer a listening ear and provide information.
  • We support local organizations in the neighboring countries of Ukraine in the reception and protection of refugees.
